Here's how it works. An old friend of mine James Governor is an active blogger who contributes to a site about Sainsbury called 173 Drury Lane. I occasionally comment on 173. A reader of Adrian Trenholm, who also writes with James knows Mark Alderton. I don't know Adrian though I understand he's read some of my stuff. Mark was directed here by James...I think.
I got an email from Mark asking for permission to use AccMan in an upcoming presentation at a conference called Better People Better Business as 'an example of how blogging works.' In addition, Mark gave me his Skype address so we could talk 'freely' (sic) about the event.
Sadly there's no site for the event though I have uploaded a set of PDF files that describes it.
We chatted about take up, what's happening on the British scene, the barriers to entry, some of the difficulties associated with keeping a site like this going. how marketing needs to change and what we can learn from trying things behind 'closed doors.' In hindsight I should've podcast the conversation. Maybe we will in the future.
I'm incredibly flattered so who am I to say no? I hope Mark's audience is encouraged to have a go. More important is that Mark committed to providing feedback to me following the show. I'll watch this with interest.
