Nannytax

I don't know how I found it but Nannytax is a sort of interesting resource that covers the nanny tax regime.

My only real caveat is the cost. £250 per annum sounds a bit steep to me - unless of course your clients are at the top end of the income scale when I suppose it's peanuts. They also make the claim that:

"Just using an accountant is on average three times more expensive than using     Nannytax. Add to that the cost of using a lawyer if the employment relationship     turns sour and you could be looking at ten or more times the cost of an annual     Nannytax subscription. That’s why even accountants and lawyers use Nannytax!"

Is that true? Seems a bit far fetched to me.

Oh yes - and I'd like to have a conversation with them about selecting nannies. But I couldn't see a mechanism for doing that. They get an email as well! But one thing they have some great stuff about 'nanny sharing' and the tax implications.

Yep - I know what you mean Nichola - I ran one for nearly 200 people - it took 2 days. So maybe it isn't so bad but it just seems a lot for those that are earning say...£20K and are having to find childcare?

I think the service works very well, I mean is £250 expensive for running a payroll? Have you run a payroll lately? Frankly, it is a total pain. I have had the joy of running a weekly one for 10 years, bad news every step of the way.

Do the clients get the benefit of the PAYE online credit though? If so then, it seems like a fab idea for at least the four years during which HMRC are giving this lnline filing incentive.
